Getting Assistance
For all assistance needs, please email gato@txstate.edu or call 512.245.5566 (off campus) or 5-5566 (on campus). This will create a support ticket that will be answered by the first available agent. Support hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday with the exception of days that the University is closed. Phone support has the option to leave a voicemail if no agents are currently available. We will answer these voicemails as soon as possible.

Please always include the following information:
  • User/Login Issues:
Please include the issue in detail, your full name, Tx State NetID (no aliases please), and site the message is in regards to. If you are e-mailing on someone else’s behalf, include your full name, your department, their full name, their Tx State NetID and what site the message is in regards to.
  • Display/Visual Issues:
Please include the issue in detail, your operating system (ex: Windows XP/Vista, Mac, Linux), browser and version (ex: IE 7/8, Safari 2.0/3.1, Firefox 2.X/3.X). Also include the URL that the message is in regards to.
  • All other Issues:
Please include the issue in detail, your full name and the URL or the Gato edit site name and page location (unlaunched sites or pages) in which the message is in regards to.
Requesting an Information Session
If you are interested in moving your department or program website into the web content management system (CMS) and would like to know more, the first step would be to schedule an "information session".

To sign up for an information session, please use our online form:
http://gato.its.txstate.edu/support/training.html

If you need to schedule an information session that is not currently listed, please contact gato@txstate.edu. Please include your full name and department. If your department or parent organization already has a website in Gato, you do not need to attend an information session. This would be optional for departments that are unsure of what Gato is and what it can do.

Requesting Features
To request a feature that is not currently available, please email gato@txstate.edu.

All feature requests are documented and will be evaluated and possibly implemented based on demand and available time to produce those changes. Please include your full name, the department/division and why the feature is needed.

Signing up for Training
To sign up for a training class, please use our online form at:
http://gato.its.txstate.edu/support/training.html

If you need to cancel your class registration, please email gato@txstate.edu.

We suggest that anyone who will be using the Gato system attend Gato CMS Training I and II classes.

Office Information
Gato is developed and maintained by Instructional Technologies Support (ITS) which is a department of the Division of Information Technology (VPIT).  Instructional Technologies Support (ITS) is located on the first floor of the Alkek library. If you need to contact the Instructional Technologies Support Office for reasons other than Gato support, the telephone number is as follows:

On Campus: 5-2319, Off Campus: 512-245-2319

All Gato support questions should be directed to gato@txstate.edu or 512.245.5566. Walk-in support requests cannot be accommodated due to limited staffing.
